The original product description
Explicit’s product page captured on 28 April 2018 describes the pink model with a matte leather upper, leather lining and embroidered three crosses on the heel. It names Gum-tec in connection with the recycled-chewing-gum outsole and the Amsterdam map. These are the specifications in that dated description, rather than a newly commissioned materials test.
The page adds a sensory claim about the sole smelling like gum. That wording belongs to the original product description. It does not establish how any current pair will smell after storage, use or cleaning.
Four components to inspect
| Component | Original description or visible detail | What to confirm for your pair |
|---|---|---|
| Upper | Matte leather specified for Pink in 2018 | Exact model, material and current surface condition |
| Lining | Full leather lining specified in that description | Condition, fit and care instructions |
| Heel | Embroidered three-cross motif | Clear image of embroidery and heel construction |
| Outsole | Gum-tec material story and Amsterdam map | Underside photograph, condition and supplied care guidance |
Use a description alongside photographs
- Identify the colourway and the dated product description.
- Compare the side and heel views with the offered pair.
- Ask for a readable size label, lining view and underside photograph.
- Record any condition differences in the written offer.
- Request the instructions for the specific materials before cleaning.
An inspection record you can reuse
Write one line per component: “Upper — specified material — visible condition — question still open.” For example: “Heel — embroidered crosses — shown in the original view — request a close-up of the offered pair.” This turns a brand story into an answerable product question.
The lining specification can help you ask a care question, but it does not tell you the fit. Record both foot measurements and ask for the size information applicable to the offered model.
- UPPER: The photographed upper is a separate component.
- SOLE: The documented Gum-tec material application.
- ASSEMBLY: Laces, lining and stitching complete the shoe.
- THE CLAIM: A sole claim is not a whole-shoe percentage.
