A complete source, presented as a useful story
The recovered PDF contains 20 full slides. It is a project presentation, not a current product manual. Its images and credits are used here to explain the shoe and the sequence behind the campaign. The slide groups below provide a text counterpart to the visual record.
People and partners / slides 1–8
The opening names Shaquille Gunther and Garezi Septara, introduces the gum-waste problem and moves into the material concept. Slide 7 shows Gum-tec; slide 8 places Explicit, Publicis One and Gum-tec together. That division explains why the project required more than a footwear photograph.
Design / slides 9–12
The product section emphasises a recognisable shoe and a map of Amsterdam. It shows the pink model and the black model with the coloured outsole. Compare these images with the four original views on each product page to understand silhouette, heel and sole.
Publicity and the public message / slides 13–20
The later section shows the campaign’s publicity presentation, collection imagery and illustrated gum-blowing faces. The deck reports publicity in 100 countries and a €0 PR budget; these remain claims in the original deck rather than audited figures or claims about current sales.
What to take into a new product brief
- A material claim should describe the exact component.
- Photography should let someone inspect multiple views.
- A city reference becomes stronger when it changes a visible design feature.
- A campaign story is separate from an order’s stock, price and delivery terms.
Where this presentation belongs
The museum’s 2018 conference record identifies the GUMSHOE lecture by Shaquille Gunther and Garezi Septara at Eperon d’Or in Izegem. The programme schedules their contribution on Thursday 8 November 2018 at 12:20. Its subject is the transition from chewing gum to sneakers. This is a dated conference contribution, not a present product certification.
The complete conference ZIP contains the file 13.pdf. Its SHA256 matches the separately hosted museum PDF and the 20-slide presentation used on this website. Recovering this mirror confirms a complete available copy; it does not produce a second set of facts or a new edition.
Look closely at slide 11

The side view lets you inspect the silhouette, panel boundaries, lacing and lettering on the sole. It does not reveal the recycled percentage, lining composition or construction of an unseen internal layer. A photograph is useful evidence of appearance, but it cannot replace the applicable specification.
Turn the presentation into an inspection record
- Record the source and slide number, not just a screenshot without context.
- List visible details: colour, silhouette, panel joins and lettering.
- Make a separate list of unverified details: composition, batch, lining and performance.
- Match the photograph to the offered model rather than treating every GUMSHOE image as interchangeable.
- Ask the seller for the missing model-specific document before describing those details as established.
Worked example: slide 11 shows a pink upper and pink sidewall. Your record can say “pink side-view design in the 2018 presentation.” It cannot say “the offered pair contains 80% recycled gum” on that evidence alone. Attach the photograph to the first statement and a relevant component specification to any percentage claim.
- SIDE: Read the silhouette and colour balance.
- ANGLE: See the relationship between upper and sole.
- UNDERSIDE: Inspect the Amsterdam map and crosses.
- HEEL: Look at the motif, shape and colour detail.
